"Overall, very good for a hostel. Everyone at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. My only somewhat negative experience was many of the bathrooms on the 4th smelled like urine, especially when you'd shower. The staff works very hard to keep things clean, so not much to do about that. Would book here agin!"

"Hotel staff were very helpful with a variety of requests. The location is great for activities from the harbour and it is a very short distance from one of the standard tour bus pickup stops (including the bus to and from the airport.) I found it much quieter at night than staying in the central shopping district. The coffee shop within the hotel is also excellent. "

"We really enjoyed staying at this hotel at the end of our Iceland trip. Very nice hotel with modern touches. We loved that the hotel gives a phone to use during your stay. The hotel is located in a very central location. We did use the nearby parking garage to do overnight parking since street parking would have cost a lot more. We will definitely return to this hotel. "

"A Hidden Gem in Reykjavík – Warm, Stylish, and Wonderfully Eco-Friendly We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Eyja Guldsmeden and can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff were incredibly friendly. The gentlemen at the reception (sorry don't know his name - he was there on June 30 in the morning) went above and beyond to check us in earlier than hotels standard checking time and he gave us a room with the beautiful view that we enjoyed throughout the entire stay. The hotel itself is beautifully designed with cozy rooms and welcoming atmosphere. Our room was spotlessly clean, with a very comfortable bed, soft linens, and the ocean view. The hotel’s commitment to sustainability is evident everywhere, yet it never compromises on comfort or quality. The location is also ideal – slightly tucked away from the busiest streets, which makes it peaceful at night, but still just a short walk to downtown Reykjavík and major attractions. Thank you to all staff at Eyja Guldsmeden Reykjavik. We hope to see you again. "
