"WE loved the Backyard Hotel. We wanted a beachfront hotel that had local flavor and that is exactly what it was.We could just sit on the balcony and watch the waves. Just a few steps down and you were on the beach.It was peaceful and quiet and away from all the noise and crowds. The staff were always very helpful. "

"This was called an ecolodge because it does not use bug spray and has no hot water. It was way overpriced for a hostel and did not meet hotel standards, when booking you had to book 2 nights minimum, non refundable. We were expected to supply our own towels which we did not know. The owner graciously provided us with towels. The owner was pleasant and provided us a place to stay with our dog which is uncommon for Costa Rican hotels. We sincerely thank her for that.
