Walk along the promenade that runs parallel to this stretch of golden sand and rent paddle boats, sun loungers and beach umbrellas.

With hotels, bars and restaurants lining the bay, Victoria Beach is among the most popular beaches in Cádiz. It offers plenty of sports options and has earned a Blue Flag award, identifying it as a friendly and safe environment for families. Rent a sun lounger and work on your tan on a hot summer afternoon.

Relax in the shade of the rocks or rent an umbrella for relief from the scorching sun. Take a dip in the cool, shallow water with your friends. Paddle boats are available to rent to take out on the sea. Go beachcombing for shells and other marine treasures on this 1.7-mile (2.8-kilometer) stretch of sand. The beach is generally wide, gradually narrowing at its northern end.

Play beach volleyball with locals and join other games, such as soccer and rugby. Watch a show at the outdoor cinema that is set up here in summer. The tourist information office offers up-to-date information about activities and events on this lively beach.

Stroll along the lengthy palm tree-lined promenade, known as the Paseo Marítimo, which runs parallel to the path of the shoreline. It has kiosks, restaurants and benches with excellent views of the water. Enjoy different types of tapas and drinks at one of the beach bars, called “chiringuitos.”

Watch evening begin from the promenade, as the sun descends and the sky darkens. Street lamps and restaurant lights illuminate the walkway, creating a buzzing atmosphere.

The beach has public toilets, showers and a changing room. Note that lifeguards patrol this sandy shoreline.

Victoria Beach is on the western flank of the southern stretch of Cádiz. Take the bus to the Estadio or Cortadura stops at the back of the beach. If you drive, leave your car in one of the many spaces available on the surrounding streets. Make sure to see the nearby sights, such as the Chiquipark Cádiz, the Cádiz Club de Fútbol stadium and the Plaza Virgen de Loreto.
