Speed down heart-pounding water slides or relax on the lazy river at one of Europe’s largest themed water parks.

Siam Park is an enormous water park inspired by Thailand’s ancient kingdom of Siam. This popular park includes numerous thrill rides and water slides, a beach zone, wave pool and kids’ areas, all of which incorporate Thai themes. Come for the park’s rides and enjoy the equally fascinating design, with remarkable detail shown in its recreation of Thai architectural motifs.

Brave the almost 92-foot (28-meter) drop from the top of Tower of Power, a steep slide set in a Thai temple. Ride the Dragon roller coaster into the lair of a colorful dragon sculpture and experience the ride’s zero-gravity effects.

Learn how to surf at the Wave Palace, said to generate the largest artificial waves in the world. Rising 9.8 feet (3 meters) high, the waves appear from beneath a beautiful Thai palace. Paddle around the edges and let the torrents of water crash against you or test your skill riding one of the powerful waves.

Watch the action in the wave pool from the white sands of Siam Beach. Although the park is actually quite far from the coast, the beach’s shady palm trees and warm blue-green waters might convince you otherwise.

Experience the park’s cultural side at the Thai-themed floating market, where you can pick up souvenirs imported from Thailand at authentic bamboo stalls. Take younger children to the Lost City, a series of shallow pools with towers, slides and water cannons.

Save time to just stroll around the park, admiring its impressive dedication to Thai architecture. Look for koi swimming in the waters beneath wooden walkways and traditional thatched houses constructed with materials imported from Thailand.

The Mai Thai River offers an excellent way to leisurely explore the park, allowing you to meander past the attractions while floating along in an inflatable raft. Touted as the world’s biggest lazy river, the Mai Thai River passes pretty waterfalls, lush vegetation and an aquarium full of tropical fish before concluding in a swirling hot tub.

Siam Park is open year-round and there is an admission fee. Use the free bus to the park from stops in Los Cristianos, Playa de las Americas and Costa Adeje.
