"The positives: The staff were very nice, the shuttle drivers were great and the cabin was clean. It was peaceful and quiet. However, if we had known that the cabin was 2 km away from the hotel, we probably would not have stayed. I booked it because of its proximity to echo land. However, the cabins were located 2 km outside of town, and although there was a shuttle it would’ve been super helpful to have a car. in addition, the cabin was very cold. "HA-MON was excellent, fantastic friendly staff and owner. Only minor issue we had was that we did not realise we had booked a room without a private bathroom. Most rooms do not have private bathrooms, however, this was our fault for not reviewing the room details properly before booking. Other than that we were very happy with our stay. Thank you! ☺️"

"Lovely staff who genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay. Very comfortable beds in basic but clean rooms. Great common area with nice amenities. We felt very at home. While the location is great for skiing - lift is right across the street, it was very hard to get into town, to grocery, etc. "

"Really happy with the service given. Hotel staff and owner were really friendly and cheerful. Each morning the owner was happy to accommodate for the bus shuttles to and from the ski resorts. Complimentary breakfast each morning was great and was always convenient. Hotel was kept extremely clean and even with one shower the organisation of when people get showers was sorted out very well. If i return to Hakuba i will be staying at this Hotel again for sure."

"This is claimed to be ski-in/ski-out, it is not! More like walk far ski less... There are plenty lodges / hotels / inns that are nicer and have much more to offer which are much closer to the lifts... yes, this location is closest to the slopes by sight and air distance, but unless you have the means to jump 50 meters with a height to clear a gondola, you're better off choosing different accommodation ;-) They also claim full continental breakfast...That must be the joke of this century!...

"Had a wonderful stay. Amazing to be able to literally ski out the back door onto the piste. Friendly & helpful staff, good value clean with huge & delicious dinners (bit expensive!). 15 min walk from Tsugaike kogen bus stop (other Hakuba resorts + Nagano Station). Private barrel bath room was fun. Enough English spoken that basic communication was not an issue. Discounted lift passes. NB: Lodge takes cards but lots of places don't and NO ATM in village - BRING CASH!!!! Tsugaike kogen is great...

"For the price, hard to get better than this. I’m coming to ski for 3 days in the Hakuba area. If you are like me, read on. Easy things first, the bad thing, this ryokan is located on top of a small hill, the last 50-100meter you need to walk up a small hill, in winter snowy times when the road is layered with snow or even ice, hauling your ski equipment is no easy task, if you are coming with kids or like me arriving at night could be challenging, location on google map is correct but the walk...

"This is a lovely lodge where we spent our Xmas family holiday. The main room is great with its wooden beams and high wooden ceiling. We had no complaints about cleanliness. The kitchen is small, but has a useful grill and 3 induction plates on the hob. There are 2 toilets - one in the shower room and one separate one, as well as a separate bath and washing area.
