Nuevo Vallarta Beach is the main beach in the purpose-built resort of Nuevo Vallarta. The soft, clean sand and tepid blue water make it a favorite with families and perfect for practicing watersports. Join other beachgoers on the sand for a day of lounging, swimming and strolling. Stay until evening to witness an incredible sunset.
Nuevo Vallarta Beach stretches for several miles around Banderas Bay. Lay down your towel on the golden sand and feel the Mexican sun slowly warming your skin. Relax beneath the shade of a rented palapa (thatch umbrella). Rows of recliners line sections of the beach, though the majority of these belong to the resort’s hotels. Stay in one of the hotels here to take advantage of the waiter service and order light meals and refreshments direct to the sands.
Paddle in the seashore or seize the opportunity to enjoy a rejuvenating swim in the inviting Pacific Ocean. Active beachgoers can try a number of exhilarating water-based pursuits, such as Jet Skiing, banana boating, parasailing and windsurfing. Deep-sea fishing, scuba diving and snorkeling excursions are available with the adventure centers located within the resort.
If you are keen to travel farther from the main beach, head to the unspoiled Marieta Islands, which are inhabited by a kaleidoscope of exotic birds and sea life. From December to March, boat trips to the surrounding waters bring visitors close to humpback whales.
Get some gentle exercise by walking north to Flamingos Beach. Here, between July and December, it’s possible to see nesting sea turtles. Venture south of the beach to the mouth of the Ameca River and look for tropical birds from the tree-lined riverbanks.
Notable attractions near the beach include Aquaventuras Park, which features waterslides and dolphin shows and the Jack Nicklaus-designed Mayan Palace Golf Course. Find Nuevo Vallarta Beach just a short walk away from the guesthouses, hotels and self-catering accommodations of Nuevo Vallarta.
