"The bathroom in the room need renovation since it not functional and extremely old. Also don't expect hot water for your shower between 10AM and 4pm since they shut it down during that time. It also a little bit noisy due that you are on the corner two major roads. So overall if I had to go back to La Fortuna I would choose another hotel."

"For the price was hard to beat when I booked online. All looked fantastic in the picts and for the most part all was great. The room was comfortable. Was nice to have a little fridge to keep drinks cold. The AC was sufficient. The breakfast was good. The staff were also very friendly. The only complaint is the nearby roosters. They started at 4AM. This is the sole reason would not stay again."

"I don’t spend much time in the room when I travel. I am inclined to choose hotels with fewer amenities so I can afford more experiences. Clean and safe suit me. Hotel El Volcan is within walking distance to everything, much more affordable than most and the staff went above and beyond to provide me anything I wanted. The menu of activities offered with hotel help is extensive. Very accommodating! "

"This was our first time in Costa Rica and we decided to book this hotel last minute and it was one of the best decisions we made, it was a nice small cozy hotel, the people here were nothing but amazing, they were all very nice and caring. I have no regrets about booking this hotel and if I was to go back to Costa Rica I would stay here again!!! "We really loved the location and staff at this hotel - the view is BEAUTIFUL over-looking the lake and was the highlight of the hotel and they've created cute decks in front of each room which are nice to relax on. The rooms and beds are fine but we did have bugs (including a cockroach) in the room. I understand this is sometimes common in Costa Rica so we try to be understanding about that, but it did poorly impact our night's sleep. Ultimately, we were happy we chose to stay at the lake...

"The garden and location of this hotel was beautiful. However, the rooms were not numbered and was confusing to remember, which was yours. Also, we had no hand towels or washcloths. The ceiling light/fan had a mind of its own and would turn on or off randomly, including in the middle of the night. The breakfast was very good however they need to cover the food due to the massive amount of flies landing on the buffet. Parking was good but limited, and sometimes the parking lot was completely full....
