"It was great to stay in a historic old home. It was totally comfortable and though I would be considered elderly I don’t come to Italy expecting not to have to climb stairs or do a lot of walking. The breakfast was basic continental style but everything served was above average. I wish there had been some Kleenex as noses of the elderly do weep more than we want them to. I was within easy walking distance of all I wanted to see and the staff was friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to...

3rd stay - always a pleasure

"Feb 2023, 2024, 2025 we stayed for a couple nights at the Excelsior Palace and every time has been a great experience. Rooms are lovely, very comfortable, great amenities (we've been in 3 classifications: all were great). The breakfast buffet is wonderful: lots of choice including made to order items. The view from the dining room is gorgeous. The location is spectacular with views over the Med, infinity pools that hang out over the sea are wonderful - warm & there are both pool-side and indoor showers, changing rooms, a gym, etc.. LOVE that it's 10 minute walk into the heart of Rapallo 10 minute walk to beach restos in San Michele 25-30 min walk to Santa Margherita Bus stops at the foot of the hotel which runs from Santa Margherita train station to the Rapallo train station so if you overdo it, easy to hop on! "

"Great hotel with big room, unlike typical European hotels. We booked the triple room and it was lovely. Super spacious, comfy bed, balcony was perfect view of the little town. We got breakfast with our booking and the buffet was plenty to choose. Food was delicious too. Staff was friendly and hotel was clean and smells amazing . Transportation was easy as it was close to the main train station. Also lots of dining options around the area within walking distance. Definitely recommended!!"
