Watch top sporting action, family shows and concerts by national and international artists at the Moda Center, a multi-purpose arena with a capacity for nearly 20,000 spectators. This popular venue is used for ice shows, rodeos, hockey games, conventions and more. The arena is also the home of the Portland Trail Blazers basketball team and the Portland Winterhawks, a junior ice hockey team.
To see what's on while you’re in Portland visit the Moda Center’s official website. The area has hosted some of the world’s biggest music stars, including David Bowie, Coldplay, Jeff Lynne’s ELO and Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters. It has also been the scene of major sporting occasions such as the 2005 U.S. Figure Skating Championship.
The Moda Center is part of the Rose Quarter, a 30-acre (12-hectare) sports and entertainment district. During your time in Portland see what’s going on at neighboring venues. These include the 12,000-seat Veterans Memorial Coliseum and Exhibit Hall. Additionally, the center can be placed into a smaller configuration known as the Theater of the Clouds, which can accommodate up to 6,500 patrons.
Purchase tickets for any of the venues online or in person at the Rose Quarter box office. It is open daily and during events, but weekend hours vary.
Whatever you’re going to see, arrive early and enjoy meals or snacks in any of the more than 70 concessions at the Moda Center. Choose from bars, ice cream parlors and plenty of fast-food and casual dining options including well-known names from Portland’s restaurant scene.
Located in the Rose Quarter on the east bank of the Willamette River, the Moda Center is just 2 miles (3 kilometers) from downtown Portland and is well served by public transportation. If you prefer to drive, pay to park in one of the center's lots and garages. More than 2,500 spaces are available. While you’re buying tickets at the box office, parking is free for 15 minutes.
