"Once inside this apartment you will enjoy the space and fabulous views out to sea. What the pictures don’t show is the entrance to the property which is up two levels in a service yard full of air conditioning units and ventilation systems from the ground floor restaurants. Directions to the property were also pretty poor. "

"Was very bright & noisy outside at night - our maid took some money off the side which wasn’t meant for her - she came in & started cleaning before I had even departed & there were people living there closed season, one of them providing constant out of tune banjo playing & singing while we were round pool!! "Lovely hotel, thats super clean, quiet, and relaxing. staff are very nice and we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a beautiful villa! The beds weren't as comfortable as they could be but as mentioned, very clean so that's important for me! food was decent, nothing special but you are also close to lots of things to do/eat and 15 min walk to the main area of the beach front. the views are gorgeous and you wont be able to look away! "

"The hotel is circa 2 years old, has a great restaurant and roof top bar. Food is excellent. Air of quality everywhere . We booked a standard room which was smaller than we realised. We stayed for 7 nights. Should have had a larger room but photos seemed ok. Music in roof top bar was a bit weird and often not conducive to eating there. I'm 66 and love most types of music but they need to think hard about their target clients needs. "

"Stayed in a lot of hotels in Paphos mainly on AI basis. Thus has topped the lot so far and with an array if food choices which didnt feel like rinse and repeat it was a nice surprise each day seeing what was different in the menu. The staff however made the difference for experience and couldnt do enough for you that everyone was there to give you the best experience that makes you want to return. Great evening shows from All Star teams and premium drinks on offer."

"We stayed at the Leonardo Plaza Cypria Maris for my wedding with a number of our party also staying there. Some of the guests had refurbished rooms on floors 5 & 6 with proper air conditioning which were much nicer (the room I booked for my parents through Expedia). "The hotel is very well located on the beachfront far enough from town to be quiet and close enough to be walkable. It is less crowded than other hotels in the area. The facilities and service are excellent. My only remark: it would be nice if one of the outside swimming pools were heated - it is too cold to swim in November."

"We had a wonderful time at the Asimina, this has got to be one of the nicest 5-start hotels I have stayed, and I have stayed in my fair share. This hotel is well run with spacious rooms. "We were sold a ‘luxury seaside apartment’, there that was nothing short of filthy. I’m not sure where to start. On arrival you enter through a live kitchen, puddles of grease, cigarette butts, raw food, a shopping trolley full of waste and also strangers eating random meals all within the alley as you enter, that’s not how I pictured i’d start this stay. "Fabulous hotel, lovely breakfast and attentive staff. My room had a fantastic view of the Tombs of the Kings, and sea. Venus offers such a warm, inviting and relaxed atmosphere, which resonates with all age groups/travellers. Quick access to the beach and great choice of amenities - although the gym was closed for refurbishment. Perfect view for admiring the sunset in the early evening. I'd absolutely stay here again when I visit Paphos and I have already recommended it to my family who frequently visit. Generally, I found the hotel staff were attentive and courteous with an exceptional level of customer care. On arrival, I was still recovering from a recent illness and the gentleman whose name I have forgotten kindly arranged for my clothes to be ironed by the house keepers. I thought Ella (reception) was another super star and she kindly assisted me whenever I needed help, such as booking my excursion to Nicosia. I'd absolutely recommend staying at Venus Beach Hotel."

If you get it, you get it!

"We had a quick family trip (2 adults 3 kids) up to the mountains and decided to stay at forest park despite some mixed reviews. For us, it was a great trip! I suggest embracing this hotel for what it is: an ageing giant with really dedicating staff and clean rooms. We were in adjoining rooms 716 and 717. Our rooms were warm, clean and comfy. Dated a bit? Yes, but little old school details like crown moulding and vintage radios built into the bedframes are things we embrace and appreciate. The bar was, again, living in a past era but we found it a refreshing break from cookie cutter modern. Service was fantastic and prices really reasonable. Get the brandy sour and read the back story!! Our kids discovered a random little game nook on the 4th floor and played pinball etc. We had a great sleep without issue. Breakfast was hot, fresh and again served by very dedicated staff. Staff were generally a highlight here. Everyone worked as if they really care about the hotel. Overall, at €70 per room for midweek winter in Troodos, we were more than satisfied at forest park. If you stay here, take time to look at the display cases from generations past, and sit on dated lounge sofas absorbing the vibe. Notice things like the hardwood floors, crown moulding, cross stitched wall hangings etc. I think, in summay, I understand why this hotel elicits such strong opinions. If it's your thing it's REALLY gonna be your thing, and if it's not, it'll really put you off. For us, we loved this hotel"
