"Such a charming place, perfectly situated near the beach and just a short drive from the quaint town of Mendocino. It was a lovely little getaway for me and my dog. This is a hostless hotel, which I didn’t mind at all—their texting staff was incredibly attentive and quick to respond to any questions I had. I especially appreciated the early check-in notification, allowing me to settle in two hours before the standard 4 PM check-in time. The atmosphere here is so peaceful. My only minor complaint is that the room stayed a bit warm, but they provided a box fan, which helped a lot. Other than that, I was very comfortable throughout my stay. I visited for a hiking trip, and after a long day on the trails, it was wonderful to come back, unwind by the fireplace, and enjoy the chardonnay provided by the hotel. The only downside is that food options are quite limited—there's no fast food, DoorDash isn’t available, and the nearby Little River Market closes at 7 PM. After a long hike, I was starving and had to drive into Mendocino for basic groceries. However, with better planning next time, this won’t be a deal-breaker for me. All in all, this place is absolutely adorable, full of charm and comfort, and I will definitely be coming back!"

"Absolutely gorgeous property. Thoroughly relaxing. Felt like a retreat. Dinner at the dining hall was excellent with the live music. Staff was friendly and helpful. Can’t beat the ocean views from all over the property. 10/10"

"The staff communication IF THE BEST ! They keep in touch with you till you arrive! They changed from keys to pin pad which was so convenient! Truly had an amazing stay , everything was clean and more stuff provided when asked . Suggested mats for kitchen and they took the suggestion . You are allowed to text the staff which is so convenient! Very very nice stay and so comfortable! Bed was very comfortable! I don’t like dogs or pets so asked them to make sure clean the furniture and they did a good job I didn’t see a single dog hair from previous people who stayed . The bathroom was super clean . Loved it ! "

"This was our first time in Mendocino so our expectations were muted. I found Agate Cove on an online search and decided to book with them. And I’m so pleased to report that I’m so glad I did! The facility, besides the fact that it is ocean front, is immaculate including the rooms and the landscaping. Service was excellent and our room was spacious, clean and had a spectacular view of the grounds and ocean. Definitely going back!!"
