I had a death in the family and requested the hotel to make an exception and cancel my non-refundable room (1 night) as I had to cancel my entire trip. Property outright declined myself and Expedia.
No matter how many good things people might say, the service and business practices that don't accommodate exception for customers who are truly in need of some leeway, displays a complete lack of respect for their customers and horrible business ethics.
This resort tried pushing the blame on Expedia saying its them who declined to refund me it but its actually this resort. Expedia has been contacting this property for a week ahead of my arrival. Moreover, Expedia notified me that this resort had the literal audacity to ask for a death certificate from the hospital for my deceased family member over a matter of $150 CDN. You guys are genuinely despicable and morally hollow. Absolutely no compassion or respect for the dead or their grieving family and on top of that you declined refunding me as if I care about the money after you reveal your pathetic business practices and moral compass through this gross and disgusting demand.
