Comprising an elegant two-story bandstand, the Malecón Kiosk is the most iconic structure on the coastal boardwalk of La Paz. Its upper floor offers a wider vista of the surrounding attractions and activities in this active beachside hub. Notice the dark red patterns and elegant white features on the kiosk, which stands on a raised platform. Reach the second story via a straight external staircase. Enjoy the panoramic views of the sea and stay here for sunset. You may be able to see the cliffs of the peninsula in the distance. In the evening, purchase popcorn and other treats from the vendors who set up stalls around the structure.
Watch a concert or attend a festival in and around the kiosk. The site also hosts book fairs, dances, speeches and other cultural events. Admire the tall Christmas tree that is set up here in December. Meet friends on the open red space surrounding the kiosk and go for a walk along the esplanade.
Spot the Queen’s Pier, a wooden structure that juts out into the sea. Walk along the dock and chat with local fishermen. Dotted along the adjacent boardwalk are 16 sculptures, including the Dove of Peace Monument and The Old Man and the Sea. Inspect these intriguing works of art as you amble along the promenade with your family, ice cream in hand. Access the kiosk for free it is accessible to the public at all times.
The Malecón Kiosk is in the central part of the coastal promenade that wraps around La Paz’s northern limits. Ride a bus to one of the nearby stops and get around the area on foot. Explore the area for landmarks such as the Whale Museum, the Jardin Velasco and the Centro Cultural de La Paz.
