"Overall I had a good stay at this hotel but there were a few issues along the way. Once we arrived on the day of check in at around 16:00 the reception area was full of people and extremely busy. I had to queue up for a long time to check in. Once we were shown our room we were not happy with it due to there being a bad smell of cigarettes. "I have not stayed in that many Crown Plazas, but have spent too many nights at Marriott properties. So this Crown Plaza is five minutes walk from Masjid Nabawi (South Gates, #305) and extremely convenient from that perspective. It is like a mainline Marriott. Very clean and comfortable beds. Well soundproofed. The breakfast was good. Negatives were that some of the physical infrastructure was not that well maintained. The electric teapot was leaking.
