"Although next to the forth bridge be mindful that most rooms that look out over the bridge are noisy. We had to upgrade to a better room as we are both very light sleepers and the noise from the traffic over the bridge was too noisy for us. On the whole the hotel food was good. Staff were most helpful and the location good. We got the train into Edinburgh from Queensferry north which is a 20 minute walk away from the hotel. Train into Edinburgh takes around 25 minutes. "Falkland is a beautiful Scottish village. The hotel is on the main street. There are a few coffee shops nearby. There is a great deli next to the hotel & the lady who runs it was so accommodating. "Arriving late on a dark evening, it looked unwelcoming - but the lass on reception made up for that! The room was large and warm, with wooden furniture, and the "curtains" were wooden shutters: it felt friendly. Characterful: the ceiling must have been about 4m up, an a bit of box trim (proably hiding pipework) made a useful seat or low shelf. Everything worked. The station was a 5 minute walk, town centre likewise. I'd go back if in the area again."
