Laurel hotel rooms a the Independent

"Near wedding venue. Was asked for additional fee for people staying within capacity of bed numbers. Shower knobs keeps falling. Shower was reataining water in tub very slow drain."

"While the property has beautiful views of Taygaytay lake, the hotel was empty on arrival and it seemed that they were not expecting any guests at the time. While I understand checkin was 3pm and we arrived around noon, it was fairly disappointing that on an empty hotel they were no able to accomodate us for early checkin which wasn't even early at all. We had to wait until 3pm to be able to check in. The rooms while they are okay they are not as nice as pictured. Also the passage ways are right...

"The hotel is clean and our stay was convenient. The view from our room was breathtaking! Their breakfast buffet was excellent. Front desk would have done a better job by explaining about the amenities. We didnt know that breakfast was included. They also didnt know that the spa was closed during our stay which is unfortunate because my wife and sister wanted to pamper themselves that day. The lobby and hallways smelled bad like there’s mold but Im sure that they’ve already addressed this. ...

"We loved our stay at this boutique hotel. First, we were given an upgrade to a deluxe room which we really appreciated because at the time I booked it, the superior room was the only room almost equivalent to my free room voucher but lower than the value. Days before our stay, the deluxe room was on promo, so I'm glad that they upgraded us. Thanks to Jigs! They even surprised us by setting up our room with balloons and flower petals on our bed. "The staff are very accommodating and friendly :) there is a nice common area with a very good lake view... Unfortunately, the facilities are old. The room is very disappointing. The restroom is not so clean, shower and heater is malfunctioning... and the bedroom has centipede and spider, yikes! "
