Positives: a lovely location. Quite busy and at times quite a bit of noise, but the resort is right on the beach,which was pretty peaceful and very clean. The water is clear, calm and warm. There are plenty of shops and restaurants close by. The resort restaurant - we only tried the Thai food but everything we tried was good. Not bad value considering the location. The pool is lovely - shaded and small so safe for kids. We booked 2 family rooms. These turned out to be on the 2nd floor, which was fine for us, but those with young kids might not have felt it was very safe. The rooms were spacious, light and clean, with 2 very comfortable king sized beds in each room. The staff clearly worked hard and were reasonably friendly and polite.
Negatives: one shower was too cold and the other too hot - staff told us that they had already contacted someone about it but they weren't free to fix it at the moment. We stayed for a week and the owners think it's ok to leave families without a comfortable shower? Our sink barely drained. When we had our room cleaned and we were given only 2 towels per room (for 4-person rooms) we were told "the towels have run out". When ordering fresh fish from the display at the restaurant, staff didn't know what half of the fish were, or what they taste like. Overall we felt that the owners didn't care much about renovations or customer service, leaving their staff to run it without support.
In short: lovely, but a bit run down and overpriced.
