"The hotel was quiet in spite of having a lot of residents. Our room was in the old section and had been modernised to a good standard. The view from the shared balcony was an ocean view and was pleasant. The breakfast had an excellent range of food and the dining area was large and spacious. The staff were extremely helpful and assisted us to carry our bags to our room as there was no lift in that part of the hotel."

"The Restriction on eating in the restaurant was limiting as my husband and I like to share an entree and main meal but this was not permitted as we each had to order a seperate main meal which I found difficult to understand how a restaurant can tell you how you have to order."

"An ideal location for the ferry. The house has great views. Modern with everything that any type of traveller might need. When the road works are completed there will be easier access to the main body of rhe Island, albeit as it currently is, we had no problems."

"Unfortunately our stay was cut short by bushfire but the day and a half we spent there was nice. It is a great location to explore flinders Chase National park which is magnificent and nearby Hanson Beach is stunning. The retreat even has some small nature walks around the property that we saw some great birdlife on (they have their own bird blind so bring your camera). The bbq area is great and we enjoyed some home cooked steaks so don't be afraid to ask the restaurant to borrow what you need -...
