At this large exhibit space in Moline, see the green machines that have plowed, dug and cut their way across America for over 175 years.

John Deere’s iconic green machinery is commonplace across America’s fields, forests and construction sites see it all under one roof at the John Deere Pavilion. This indoor exhibit space is the biggest attraction in Moline, Illinois.

Since John Deere created his first piece of equipment in 1837, the name has been synonymous with machinery. From timber cutters to combine harvesters, see many of the company’s best products on display here. Explore how the classic green John Deere tractor has evolved over the years. On one wall, a timeline charts John Deere’s history.

Unlike many museums, John Deere Pavilion encourages its visitors to touch the exhibits. Examine a machine and even jump into its seat. Find out what it feels like to drive a huge machine in the simulators, which look and sound like the real thing.

Although visitors of all ages love big machines, children tend to be some of John Deere’s most enthusiastic fans. Bring your kids to the Discovery Zone where they will learn how roads and bridges work, where food comes from and the importance of preserving the environment.

John Deere Pavilion also hosts numerous events throughout the year. Kid’s Craft Day, a free event where children are encouraged to be creative, is a beloved monthly tradition. Visit the website to see the current events calendar.

Schedule a free tour for larger groups. Plenty of knowledgeable docents are on hand to answer any questions you might have. The John Deere Store next door is almost as large as the exhibition space. Bring home your own John Deere machine as a keychain or mini model or buy branded apparel.

The John Deere Pavilion is open daily, with reduced hours on weekends. The attraction is closed on New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The pavilion is in downtown Moline. Find plenty of shopping and eating destinations within easy walking distance. Cross the street to see the Mississippi River flowing past.
