Escape the bustle of Kuta and visit the picturesque bay of a small fishing village to sample fresh seafood as you watch the sun set over the sea.

Secluded Jimbaran Beach is an attractive place for a quiet getaway in popular Bali. See colorful wooden boats bobbing in the bay, watch the local fishermen come back from a night out at sea and enjoy tasting the catch of the day on the beach at sunset. With beach clubs among the restaurants and bars that line the waterfront, there is even some nightlife to be found.Get to the beach at dawn to see the fishermen come ashore with their catch. Walk to the fish markets to see the Balinese expertly clean and display their wares. Most of the fish will be on the tables of the barbecue restaurants in the evening. People from Kuta and other places in Bali flock here to enjoy the feasts at these restaurants. You can opt to have the seafood served by weight, and your meal generally includes a starter, side dishes and fruit for dessert. The restaurant tables are on the beach, so kick off your shoes and dig your toes into the warm sand while you sample the mouthwatering Indonesian seafood and rice dishes. Enjoy the live music that is often played on the shore and watch the sun setting over the ocean. When you have time to spare, walk to Kelan Beach, north of Kedonganan. Kelan offers views of the wider Jimbaran Bay, a picturesque sight. Order refreshments at one of the restaurants by the water before you visit the traditional temples in the area. For adventure, go rock climbing, play paintball or try abseiling at the Jimbaran Hills Activity Valley.Jimbaran Beach is part of the narrow land passage that leads to the Bukit Peninsula. The village of Jimbaran is just south of Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport, so it is easy to reach by taxi and car. With plenty of resort accommodation options, Jimbaran is a great place to base yourself in Bali. There is just one main road and a sandy beach, making it a perfect place to explore on foot.
