It is an old house on 3 levels, so quite a few stairs, but with plenty of room for the 2 of us. It had everything we needed for our stay. It was our second time here."

"Our accommodation was very well presented and in a fantastic position for walking out from. It was in a quiet, remote situation, but still accessible to Church Stratton, although the road was narrow and windy, so you had to careful on your drive. The one plus on the drive to Church Stratton was having to cross Long Mynd which gave you magnificent views across Shropshire and an ideal place to walk out to and around. "I stayed with friends and chose the Lion in Shrewsbury for the history and authenticity of staying in an original listed hotel. Our rooms were decorated nicely although the curtains in one room were tired. It must take alot to maintain a large hotel like the Lion. Bathroom not modern but clean with lovely white towels and toiletries and hot shower. All the staff were lovely, breakfast really good. Nothing was too much trouble. Its definitely not a glitzy hotel but the originality of the building...
