I booked a standard twin room and stayed in this hotel for 8 nights in a separate room with my family. Some standard rooms may be different from others. Some rooms may have inadequate lighting. Rooms have a very classical design, so one may not expect luxury in this hotel, especially with the standard rooms. Rooms get a general clean up/tidy up every day; advice to lock up bags/luggage to prevent potential theft before heading out. The beds are a big letdown and tarnishes the ratings of this hotel. The pillows are too big and cushiony resulting in neck pain and uncomfortable nights.
The staff are overall very nice, they were able to fix my keycard access to my room a few times which is why I'm giving this a 4/5 not 3/5. Regarding amenities, you have to pay ~65 HKD for breakfast and ~40 HKD with an Octopus card to use washing facilities. Disposables have to be purchased from a vending machine and not given for free.
The hotel location is very convenient for food, shopping and transport both MTR and buses to the Airport. I haven't run into any problems with my rooms nor theft of items as I put valuables inside the locked luggage before going out.
In summary, this hotel did a great job at serving its foundational purpose of being a hotel and allowing convenient travel to places one wishes to visit. Despite the room's looks being outdated, this hotel has a long road of potential growth and quality improvement. Likely come back to this place in the far future.
