"Good hotel with amazingly clean rooms. Room was big and recently renovated, lots of space and nice touches like tea and coffee in the room. Big windows let in loads of natural light, and opening windows allowed fresh air which was nice. The location allows for easy access and parking, and then it's a very short walk to the centre of the historic town. Friendly team and good breakfast. As some other people commented, no, they don't speak English - but it turns out the hotel is in Germany, so...

"Quaint and charming property with amazing kitchen service from our elegant multi course meal to the extravagant breakfast buffet in morning. Great location in town for strolling along to all of the shops as well as getting to trail heads for hiking up the mountain. "

"The hotel lighting is very limited, really uncomfortable to stay. Breakfast is not delicious for room rate that I paid. The pillow look like not really pillow for sleep. I don’t want to come back to this hotel. "

"This was our 3rd visit to Torfhaus Resort Hotel. It is our favorite. The location in the Harz Mountains is serene, but also full of possibilities for hiking, biking, and quick travel to picturesque towns. The houses/cabins at the resort are maintained in excellent condition. There is plenty of room for a family. We enjoy sitting on the deck with a meal and looking at the beautiful views of the forest. We accidentally left some belongings at the hotel. The staff was very gracious and...

"I was really surprised by how good this hotel was, really good condition, nice location, super comfy bed, kitchen facilities in room, good shower. The breakfast buffet was really tasty, good eggs and sausage. In the evening the restaurant serves really good food at a decent price, and the beer and service is good. Staff were fun, helpful and professional. Local environment is quiet, the local town a 15 minute walk, but its an easy and safe walk, and worth it as there are a couple of bars...
