"The location of the hotel was excellent, close to shopping, dinning and right on the water. The room was a little outdated and the walls were thin. We could hear our neighbors TV and being load. I would definitely stay here again but request a corner room "

"I had a nice room on the third floor with two comfortable beds and an ocean view. Clean bedroom with mini fridge and microwave. Hotel is easy to find and lots of parking, some of it covered parking. The fellow who checked me in was cheery and efficient. There is a gym on the 3rd floor and an indoor swimming pool on the lobby floor. "The hotel and the setting on Goat Island were beautiful. Really enjoyed the stay! The only suggestion for improvement (and it's an easy one) add a mirror or two in the main bedroom. Only mirror was in the bathroom. A full length mirror would be a nice touch."

"For our 25th anniversary we chose Newport, RI for a getaway. As first time visitors, we researched options and chose the Vanderbilt because it seemed central in location and the fact there were onsite spa services and good bar. This first choice was fortunate because we then met Morgan, the lead concierge. I booked the hotel and then immediately emailed re:spa services. Morgan called within 5 minutes of my email to book our appts and then proactively offered other services, ideas, and resources....

"We stayed in a beach-side cottage and it was very luxurious. We could have bought a new motorcycle for the price, however. NOT affordable. But deeply lovely."
