It's a nice old single story, the rooms are small, clean, with only a shower. Nice for one or two people. Management is nice and watchful.

Didn't have fitted sheets, Alien travelers blaring hispanic music loudly outside till midnight. What mattered was shower was clean, two flat sheets on bed were clean. No rug or carpet but floor was clean. Loud train blaring horn at night is right next door. Again music next door in the morning, I could hear there conversation and laugh through the wall.

I loved staying here! I needed a little vacation for a few days so the Kings Rest was a good pick. The owner man working the front desk was very kind. I had read some reviews before & they had said it was dirty but I don’t agree. It was very clean & my expectations were met. Yes you can hear people but that is only if they’re loud! If you turn on the AC/Heater you’ll be just fine. I would love to stay here again!

Small basic room but very clean. I stayed on a Sunday night and I heard a train go by around 6:30 the next morning. A little later I heard the trash truck and traffic. My room was near the front by the street.

The first room i got the bed had mud all over it and the shower had nasty dirty muddy towels in it someone else had stayed in the room and it was not cleaned after so ghey gave me another room with no towels

The room was dirty when we arrived. Trash was not emptied and there was empty beer cans in the refrigerator. Towels had some big holes in them. There are no lamps so you have to keep the ceiling light on. You have to pay to use the ice machine. The beds were comfortable. Location is close to many things so that was nice!

The plumbing was horrible. The room came with a plunger (which should have been a clue). Every use of the toilet requires a plunge. The guy next door also had to borrow it for his room.

They were never in the office. I had a ring the doorbell so many times and wait until someone came out. I never got a receipt. I felt like every time we asked for something it was so inconvenient. I only had one towel in the room go get more towels I had to go get an iron, and they were never in the office. One of the beds was so dirty and smell like pee. It was horrible.

Unfortunately, there was a chair in the room with food and grease on it. I called the front desk and they took care of it immediately, however it made me uncomfortable about what else might be dirty in there. Also, not the motel's fault, but there was a screaming child right next door to me that wouldn't stop yelling and crying at 8am; he was in complete crisis mode, and I'm not sure if anything was done about that.

I'm surprised about all the positive reviews about this place. When I stay in motels like this I only want two things - a shower and a bed. Unfortunately this place did not deliver on either of these things. Yes, there was an actual shower and bed, but they were both disgusting. Half the towels were so stained it looked like a mechanic's old rags, and the other half had hair all over it. The bed sheets were dirty (dirt and crumbs in them) and stained, and the bed was so uncomfortable. It's also very loud and I could hear cars throughout the night. This place was disgusting and I would suggest finding a different place.

I can not make this stuff up. I showed up to check into my room & it was a disaster. The 1st room she gave me a key to smelled so bad. With all due respect it smelled like a homeless person had lived there for months. I couldn’t last 1 minute in that room before requesting another room. I don’t know why she would just try to pawn a smelly room on to me but I wasn’t having that. So I requested another room and then she gives me a key to a room where a couple is literally sleeping in the bed. That was too much. Now I had all my red flag sensors on. I would have found a different place there but I had already been billed so I proceeded to find a room for my short stay. At last, she gives me the key to the room right in the middle of the 2 rooms from before & it is a normal small motel room. I went on to go to work as a filmmaker and the whole time I was working I was wondering whether someone might have accidentally received a key to my room and stole all of my stuff or my clothes. I will not return & this place gets 2 thumbs down from me.

A very comfortable old-school motel in downtown Gilroy. Nothing fancy, but you don't choose a motel for that purpose, and it was quiet despite being on the main road. Check-in was very efficient and the gentleman let us check in early. Soap was provided but not shampoo, so bring your own. Fantastic restaurant, Longhouse, located next door - wide variety menu of down home food with hearty portions at very reasonable prices. Would definitely stay here again.

Bedspreads were stained and torn. We refused to stay there.after seeing two such rooms. Proprietor said he would contact Expedia and cancel the charges. Apparently that did not happen. I am disputing the charge to my credit card.
