"Located far from city, near a port. Check-in was fast and staff were polite and friendly. Room was of good size with 2 single and a bunk bed for 3 adults. Comfortable and clean. "Check in was incredibly awful, 40 mins in 35 degree heat outside because the property owner did not send a valid door code. Ended up calling hotels.com who managed to sort but at a cost in phones, patience and valuable holiday time as well as cooking in the heat. Dreadful check in.... cannot recommend for this reason by itself. Found last occupants' food in the microwave.... otherwise property was ok. Beware, check in appears to be issue looking at previous reviews - avoid... "

"Toyoko Inn is conveniently located close to Kagoshimachuo Station - a major transportation and business center, therefore close to shopping and restaurants. The large Toyoko Inn sign on a building is a little misleading, as the Inn itself is next door, closer to the station. The only downside to some is that the facility is a little dated but very functional. "

"Hostel was all good! Some pretty fancy toilets. It did get a little loud at night in the men's dorm due to the trains every now and then but a couple of ear plugs solved that problem. Great location close to Kagoshima-Chuo and food vendors. Pretty happy with everything given the price I paid."

"The German inspired style of the room and furniture was fun and interesting. There were some parts of the room that could be updated (There was a lamp shade that was cracked and the bathroom had some water damage). The shampoo/conditioner bar was so much fun as you got to pick which ones were your favorite and bring some to your room. The breakfast was also really good. The location is really close to the main station so it was easy to take public transfer to and from there."
