Attend soccer matches, watch sellout performances by world-famous musicians and enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour at this 50,000-plus capacity arena.

Savor the feverish passion of Brazilian soccer fans while watching a game at the Fonte Nova Stadium (Arena Fonte Nova). Sing along with huge crowds at concerts by big-name acts and have some family-friendly fun at traveling fairgrounds. Fonte Nova Stadium was refurbished and modernized in 2010 in order to be used as one of the host stadiums for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The stadium is the home of Esporte Clube Bahía, one of Salvador’s biggest soccer clubs. The team competes in the second tier of the Brazilian national league in addition to the regional Campeonato Baiano. Join the club’s fans on match day and witness the animated atmosphere that unfolds. See people wave giant flags emblazoned with slogans and the club’s badge. Listen to the crowd sing songs and play drums almost non-stop throughout the duration of game.

Time your visit to coincide with the Ba-Vi, a match between Esporte Clube Bahía and their fiercest rivals Esporte Clube Vitória. Marvel as both sets of fans turn the stadium into a sea of color and deafening noise.

The stadium also hosts live music events, which feature a range of national and international artists. Brazilian singer-songwriter Roberto Carlos, English rock musician Elton John and French DJ David Guetta are examples of previous performers. Other events include funfairs that feature carousels, bumper cars, pendulum rides and slides. Discover the latest trends at fashion shows and browse artistic exhibitions.

If there are no events scheduled during your visit to Salvador then join a guided tour of the stadium. Learn about the development of the stadium and its operational management. Visit the dressing rooms and walk on the playing field.

Situated in Salvador’s Nazare neighborhood, the stadium is less than 15-minute walk from the city’s Historic Center. Public buses travel between the stadium’s southern entrance and popular tourist areas such as Pelourinho and Praça da Sé.

Tickets for events at the Fonte Nova Stadium are available at the box office and via the official website. Guided tours take place from Friday to Sunday and a fee is applicable.
