"The staff were friendly & welcoming, the hotel was mostly clean but some areas of the room had been poorly cleaned. My issue is with the decor of the room. Bare concrete walls are not conducive to a welcoming, comfortable stay, no matter what artistic crap reason you give for stinting on the decorating. The lighting was dingy & swallowed by the heavy, dark walls. Coupled with the extremely small size of the room it felt like a prison cell. It's a shame as the bathroom was great & the staff...

"My only issue that stoped it getting 5 stars was. I was in a disabled room, with an emergency exit sign in the room. God that little green bulb is bright. I had to find a position where i wasn't looking at it."

"The staff were absolutely excellent with warmth and helpfulness throughout. The building is old and so the hotel isn’t modern but it is charming. Food was excellent and the bar pleasant and comfortable. The leisure facilities were lovely. Overall a very relaxing and peaceful stay. "
