"Great hotel in former palazza. Lovely staff. Recommend. One beware: if coming by train, Google maps will tell you the train is 230 m from the funicular. This is wrong. The 230 m refers to the escalator to a parking area. The hotel is 1.3 kilometres from the top of the funicular which leaves from opposite the railway station. "It was a night stay before getting to Rome and we arrived in the afternoon so we don’t have much to say. The only thing is that we thought it was a terme but it isn’t. the owner has one near. Our keys never worked well lucky our room was just near the reception . "This was our first time to Orvieto. This property is at the top of a small mountain facing the village. Wonderful view, especially in the morning with the sun at low angle. The room was clean and comfortable. Free breakfast had many options, and they will cook for you if you wish. We had a car, there was plenty of parking. "Positives: We had the best available cottage, located at the very back of the grounds. Since it was September, the location was quiet. It would be noisy during season since it is directly across the street from the stage and playground. The cottage was comfortable and had all of the necessary basics in the kitchen. Negatives: parking is at the other far end of the campground. We were told that we could come through the gates and park at the cottage at 16:00. However, they came banging on...
