"This review is specifically for room number 0, the twin room (bunk bed). The top bunk bed was uncomfortable. Whether you put your head on one side (right next to the AC) or the other (next to a wall indent with MOLD) it is impossible to sleep. As for the changing rooms (connected to the showers), they also have mold on the walls. The exhaust fans in the toilet rooms barely work resulting in a perpetual unpleasant smell. There is no sink to wash your hands in the toilet rooms yet the hand...

"The staff is amazing. Mari is a sweetheart and knows the area well. She will offer a suggestion for a place to eat or drink. This was my first time in a hostel. There is no kitchen, but there is a microwave. Bathrooms are clean. Beds are reasonably comfy. The area is quiet, but a short walking distance to Sakae. I have no complaints. Thank you for the great stay. "

"Loved my stay (in the female only dormitory) - the bedroom, shower rooms and toilets were soo clean, very impressive. Did not use the kitchen much, but was not able to find green teas or coffee - maybe I just did not know where to look. Met friendly fellow travellers . Front desk host helped me with my luggage (rooms are upstairs) This place is great, quiet, and located near Hida No Sato - BUT rather far from downtown Takayama. "Our host (Tai) was very friendly and helpful, the facilities were clean, the location was excellent (very close to Gora Station) and it was affordable. The place could use a little fixing up. At least one bathroom stall was closed (inoperable), one shower operable but needed fixing, and in the rock onsen, one of the shower hoses was leaking. Great for budget but could be better if some maintenance was done."

"My family and I stayed here two nights just before Christmas. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The owner offers a shuttle bus during the morning hours to Gora Station, which is very helpful for getting to Hakone ropeway. Local restaurants were a bit unaccessible as it was off-season but this inn has its own great little restaurant kitchen. We had two dinners here and tried almost everything on the menu. We bought very fresh food at nearby supermarket and grilled them for dinner. Staffs were really helpful while I sprained my ankle the first night. Appreciated their help."
