Children's Museum

Children\'s Museum as well as a family

Take the kids to this fascinating museum with over 150 interactive exhibits and plenty of space for them to play and learn.

If you are looking for a memorable day out no matter the weather, visit the Children’s Museum in Amman, Jordan. This special place has been designed specifically with kids in mind. Watch as they dress up like pilots, learn about the atmosphere through hands-on activities and experience a kid-friendly construction site filled with bricks and pulleys.

Situated in Al Hussein Public Parks, the Children’s Museum has been an important part of the city since its founding in 2007. Its dedication to excellence is shown by its membership of the Association of Children’s Museums and Hands On! International. Both of these worldwide associations advocate for the creation of fun learning environments for kids. Note that the displays are in both Arabic and English, helping kids of different backgrounds to come together and play.

Help your children start their visit to the museum by heading to the Exhibit Hall. Let them create new worlds and imaginary places on the Imagination Playground filled with blocks. They can also come up with their own solutions for saving water at the conservation exhibit, as well as digging around in a sand pit to find fossils in the Ancient Times section.

The Once Upon a Shape area is ideal for young children and toddlers. It features bright colors and age-appropriate building materials to help them create patterns. Watch as your child engages with the sensory exhibits in an informal environment that keeps parents close while still allowing for exploration.

On a nice day, head to the outdoor area and Secret Garden exhibit. Here, children can either use up extra energy to climb on playground equipment or find a quiet space in the greenery to connect with nature and learn about feeding local plants.

Park for free in the museum’s outdoor parking garage. The museum is closed on Tuesdays, but does operate year round. Summer hours can be slightly longer than winter hours, so check the schedule ahead of time. There is an entrance fee to pay, although one day each month the museum offers free entry at certain times.
