"I am just starting my Sri Lanka adventure and I cannot recommend enough Villa Kapuru. It is a small Villa run by SriLankan and Irish men who take in rescue dogs and cats so they can be treated with love and kindness. The Villa is a short walk to the beach and restaurants and has both a pool and air conditioning, very important in the Sri Lankan heat ☀️ It was quiet for sleeping, had a tasty breakfast and was exceptionally clean! Their partner restaurant is also highly recommended - I had the best chicken curry ever! "

"Sand Sea & Sky.. golden sands, endless ocean and clear blue skies. Peaceful, quiet and tranquil. Deluxe twin ocean view rooms were comfortable and spacious. Excellent service and great food! Planning to return soon, over the Summer."

"Our mattress was extremely uncomfortable with springs poking into our back. We asked for more towels due to insects creeping throught the gap from our front and patio doors- no one returned with them after front desk told us someone was on the way. Then we experienced plumbing issues after any usage of our tap from the bathroom sink led to leaking and ultimately flooding of water from the toilet. We also called the front desk and were told someone would come- no one arrived. Lastly our shower barely drained with a huge amount of water collecting with all of the dirt excreted from our bodies. It was disgusting. This hotel has soo much potential with such a beautiful location!!! My humble suggestion after staying in 3 other hotels during this one vacation is: 1. close or change the use of the first pool where only crows were observed using it 2. rethink your menu for buffets as less food but better quality would be spectacular 3. rethink your room service responsiveness 4. redo your rooms and update them to actually match images online and look more updated in general 5. rethink your shower design as a lot of water spills out without a deeper lip, shower curtain, or door."

"Waterland is a small resort of around 5 individual villas on the banks of a river. We stayed in Elephant villa which has a small, private pool and decking area. We loved the indoor/ outdoor bathroom with fish! The area is quiet and great for just sitting and watching the wildlife. Food is eaten in a small restaurant and although choice is limited, the quality was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. Slight downsides... The resort is really tucked away ,so be sure your taxi driver knows where he is going. Ours took a while to locate the hotel. We wished the staff would collect the plastic waste that washed up at the end of the decking, or provided waste sacks for us to do it. Its a shame having to overlook plastic and garbage as you gaze at the scenary. There isnt anywhere to walk to so just go and enjoy relaxing ."

"getting a bit dated staff are excellent always helpful, beds are hard needed another blanket to sleep on, tiles around the pool are very slippery/dangerous overall a nice enough place to stay."
