With lush green lawns, barbecue pits, children’s activities and a sculpture exhibition, this urban park is the ideal respite away from the city center.

Charles Clore Garden is a beautiful public park that overlooks Tel Aviv’s Mediterranean seashore. This almost 30 acre (12 hectare) green space sits nestled between Jaffa Port and the southern end of Lahat Promenade. Split your time at Charles Clore Garden between the pristine lawns and sandy beach. Mingle with local families that take advantage of the park’s serenity to pray prior to the start of the weekly Shabbat.

Pathways run along the park’s waterfront and meander around its gardens. Tourists and Tel Avivians alike come here to walk, jog and ride bikes while enjoying the cool sea breeze. Admiring the views of the never-ending Mediterranean Sea and watching dramatic sunsets is a typical city pastime here. Consider bringing food to cook at the free-to-use barbecue areas.

A large playground, including climbing apparatuses and more, ensures the children will be entertained. Cool off on a hot day by running and jumping around the water jets of the splash pad. Get some exercise at the fitness stations and meditate at the yoga platform. If you have the urge to feel the sand between your toes and surf in the Mediterranean then spend the day at Charles Clore Beach.

A sculpture garden adds a touch of artistic flair to the park. Within it is a piece called Woman Against the Wind by the well-known Israeli sculptor Ilana Goor. You can also visit the Etzel Museum, housed in a striking building erected over Ottoman-era ruins. The museum commemorates the members of the Etzel movement who died during Israel’s struggle for independence.

Charles Clore Garden is within comfortable walking distance of popular Tel Aviv neighborhoods such as the American Colony, Jaffa and Neve Tzedek. Public buses stop close by and there’s a large metered car park. A visit to the garden is a popular way to start or finish a walk on Lahat Promenade. Find a wealth of drinking and dining options at Jaffa Port and the Old Train Station.
