Jaffa Flea Market which includes heritage elements

Delve into the bustling laneways in search for unique souvenirs or simply enjoy the atmosphere and wide range of food options in Tel Aviv’s favorite flea market.

Having thrived here for over 100 years, the Jaffa Flea Market is a real Tel Aviv institution. Nestled among the tangle of historic streets and walkways of the Old Town, the market is the perfect place to lose yourself for a few hours.

Head straight for the Clock Tower in Old Jaffa, your gateway to the maze that is the “Shuk Hapishpishim,” which is Hebrew for Flea Market. Weave in and out of the covered alleys and along rows of open stalls to shop for second-hand or new items in this vibrant trading hub. As you wander, take in the unique sights, sounds and smells of the bustling market place. The atmosphere is as timeless and authentic as the market itself.

Take your time to find some real bargains. Wares for sale range from beautiful antiques and collector’s items to modern clothes and plastic toys. Remember to put on a poker face if you find a hidden treasure, as prices tend to increase with your level of excitement. It’s perfectly fine and even expected to haggle to get a good deal, as long as it’s all done with a smile.

Take a little break from shopping at one of the little cafés and restaurants scattered throughout the market. Enjoy a strong coffee with a sweet pastry, find a cozy charcuterie restaurant and taste authentic Middle Eastern snacks as you sit and watch locals and tourists mingle in the laneways.

As the evening rolls in and the traders close up shop, the bars, restaurants and cafés turn up their music. Saunter through the lanes to find a nice place for a hot meal or cold drink. The pace changes from bustling market activity to a more relaxing rhythm with a cool vibe.

The Jaffa Flea Market is easily reached on foot from Old Jaffa. Parking can be tricky, so it is advised to take a bus or taxi if you are coming from Central Tel Aviv. Stalls are open every day except Saturday, morning to early evening, with reduced hours on a Friday.
