"This property was pretty great. Family oriented and had everything we needed included beach materials. Hair product , kitchen materials and and seasonings and the ac works great. A lot of pools and options for people who stay. The rain may have cut the electricity off for a few hours which was a bit like um ok. But over all they got it back up and was happy . It’s a bit far like 30-50 min from San Juan and other areas but definitely worth it. "

"We stayed one night before leaving for Vieques. This is a very clean place with all the essentials provided. It wasn’t easy to find, but the contact person was very helpful in providing good directions. The bed was a little firm for my taste, but still comfortable. Very, very clean!"

"This was an awsome little apartment. Felt really safe, amazing responsive body, great communication. We walked to seven seas, Kalizo, Costa Mia and a 3 minute ride to servers Biobay tours a large park and several more great dining options, all this and it was still very quiet. I can not say enough fast things"

"Hix Island House is a masterful work of Art. The large open windows feel like panoramic screens opening to the lush hillside of the property. The shape of my room captured the sounds of birds as they moved around the flowers. The shower in my room was covered in climbing figs and a couple of curious, beautiful galliwasp lizards would visit me there each morning.The pool was refreshing and the perfect depth for swimming up the eastern edge for restful views of the ocean. Service was top-notch, the staff there very attentive to anything you need. The fridge was stocked with eggs, milk, bread, and plenty of coffee. Hix Island House has everything you need to enjoy Vieques, plus all the things you didn’t realize you needed like aesthetics, soul-rest, and spiritual indulgence in a natural landscape. Again, this space is a work of Art. It’s like glamping in a Paul Gauguin painting. "

"I recommend If you want to get away from the party life of San Juan. Area is quiet and close to Luquillo Kioskos. Beach is right across from this property. You get a gorgeous view of El Yunque from the pool area. I stayed 3 days in San Juan and 2 days here due to my budget. Definitely family friendly. Food is great and there’s a casino next door. There’s no complications with parking. There’s no balcony’s for this property and only goes up to 4 levels. It’s a small clean hotel. Bilingual staff. This is a hotel you won’t get lost in. Free breakfast is pretty good! "

"My wife and I stayed here for our first 2 nights in Puerto Rico. Marianne and Matthew were wonderful hosts. Showed us around and gave an experienced rundown of the area. Rooms are simple and the views are incredible. When I clicked on "quiet," I meant in the sense of no human noise pollution. The area, is awash with the sound of birdsong, coqui frogs, bats in the evening, insects and the cascading 4 converging river in the rain forest below. With little to no mosquitos, we kept our balcony door and windows wide open the entire time, letting the breeze and sounds of El Yunque in. It's only 20 minute drive down to the town and a few more for restaurants and beaches. We used the open air kitchen and made pastas both nights and it was lovely. Highly recommend for a nature get away."
