Great family run hotel with excellent service. Modern comfortable rooms maintained to a high standard. Signature Victorian bar/dining area with decorative terracotta tiles.
Under new management, absolutely brilliant experience. The owners are friendly and very nice. The place is clean and looks great. On site parking with the gate locked in the night time. I strongly recommend this place is you are in Newport.
If you can overlook the location, this would be a nice place. Rooms have been refurbished. Two things to avoid - the car park (entrance is so narrow and very difficult to get to), the lift - (more like Arkwright's till, I swear it sniggered when I tried to get both doors open and juggle bags).
Lovely clean and very friendly place , breakfast was perfect evening meal ok steak not bad but expensive. Very cheap at £80 for rugby weekend as £500 plus in Cardiff
The room was lovely and the food was really the best. The hotel has parking at the rear and the gates are locked to ensure the safety of your car. The owners are really welcoming and friendly.
This hotel was one of the best finds. All staff were friendly the rooms were lovely. The food was really the best with a choice of menus. I have to also mention how reasonable the bar prices were.

basic accom and facilities
negatives-room cold, bed hard, bar shut before 10pm, staff smoking outside, breakfast small.car park tight but not an issue , area not great.
positives- quiet because no one staying
The hotel was in a convenient location and relatively quiet. Staff were friendly. My room was clean and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. My only complaint was that my shower was cold, even when turning up the temperature to full. Had I mentioned this to staff, I am sure they would have helped, but I did not have time to do this as I needed to be out early. Breakfast was served quickly and was tasty.
The owner was exceptionally helpful, adjusting the heating in my room and booking a couple of cabs for me when I went out in the evening. At breakfast I had the best hot chocolate I have had at a hotel for many years, too! I would definitely stay here again on a return visit to Newport.
