Treat yourself to a shopping trip in the stores and boutiques of Toronto’s largest mall, which is housed under a striking glass ceiling.

Shop till you drop at Toronto Eaton Centre, a massive multi-level indoor shopping mall that spans two downtown city blocks. The space is filled with more than 230 retailers and restaurants, including high street and high-end stores.

Toronto Eaton Centre is modeled after the famed Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan. Like its inspiration, the mall is covered by a spectacular barrel vaulted glass galleria that runs its entire length.

Once inside, look up at the ceiling to see the 60 life-sized fiberglass sculptures of Canadian geese. They were created by local artist Michael Snow. Then, start your shopping expedition. There are four levels to explore with shops selling everything from jewelry and fashion accessories to computers and electronic goods. Before your visit, go to the center’s website to study the updated list of store promotions.

Break off from your shopping spree to sit by the Centre Court fountain, which shoots water up to 85 feet (26 meters) in the air. Then go to Urban Eatery on the Concourse Level for a bite to eat. This food court has 24 self-service restaurants and seating for nearly 1,000 patrons. Choose from options including fast food, a Toronto delicacy or international cuisines, such as Thai and Indian. Other dining options in the mall include bars and upmarket and casual restaurants.

Toronto Eaton Centre is situated in the heart of downtown Toronto. It is served by two subway stations and is one block away from the city’s main bus terminal. For drivers, there is metered parking for more than 1,300 vehicles.

A fun way to get here is to stroll along the underground walkway known as PATH. This subterranean network of pedestrian tunnels connects destinations across the downtown area and the financial district and is filled with more stores and shopping arcades.

You can visit Toronto Eaton Centre every day of the year except Christmas Day. There are reduced operating hours on Sundays and public holidays.
