The museum’s location on the campus of Iowa State University is no coincidence. Brunnier Art Museum is named after Henry J. Brunnier, who attended the university and is the museum’s benefactor. Enter the performing arts and conference complex that houses the museum. Take your time as you wander from one exhibit to the next. Among the museum’s most popular areas are its decorative glass and crystal rooms. Here, you can see a wide array of different types of delicately blown glass and shimmering crystal. Most pieces have small plaques next to them with more information on the artist and the meaning behind the piece. You can also see decorative textiles, carpets and furniture that are part of rotating exhibits. Other visiting collections often include lacquered objects, wood and silver.
