"We used the hotel as a base as we had family in nearby village. So the hotel was nearest to them. The staff and facilities were good. The fridge in our room did not work. although we did not report it as thought it was how the fridge’s are in this country. The side of the hotel we was on in Room 901 there was a nightclub (seems only open Friday,Saturday &Sunday) music pumping out till 5am which made 2 nights for us no sleep. We left on Sunday. Overall good but would not want rooms on 901...

"My review is based on the fact that the elevator broke on the way to our room on the third floor. We had to drag our suitcases up stairs and down to check out. On the day we were leaving, the reception staff person helped us get our suitcases out of the hotel to the car. Although there is parking,secured as well, you had to go out on the street and up a long flight of stairs to get to reception. There was no assistance. We are 70 and I have a knee injury, so all of this was a challenge. My other complaint is smoking—it is a non smoking facility but you can smoke on your balcony. We shared a balcony with a smoker which means we could not open our window. There was a table and chairs by the entry door to the hotel where everyone was smoking. It absolutely reeked. On the good side, you could exit the hotel right out to the main pedestrian zone. We stayed at this hotel 5 years ago and liked it. In my opinion, this is not a 4 star hotel any longer. If you go there and have dietary restrictions, it does not work to let them know ahead of time. Tell them at reception when you get there. Breakfast has good selection generally."

"Booked last minute and on the day of my unplanned road trip. Lovely and friendly welcome despite arriving quite late. Hotel is the type of hotel I really like, oldie-waldy, very traditional service, reminded me of a British guest house in the 1960s, lots of period charm. "
