"I personally liked it because my aunt lives nearby. The shopping, access to tram and city centre make this a great place to stay, A market practicallly out the door and tram down the street have easy transportation. Since it is not city centre it is in a quiet area and good service at the hotel desk."

"Great location and for a historical building, very nicely renovated. We had booked a Superior Room, which was very spacious and a corner unit away from the stairs/elevator. The location of the hotel was perfect, right beside a few tram lines, close to a grocery store, basically right next to the Grachtengordel (the canal district). I had purchased the iAmsterdam pass (which came with free transit) and didn't use transit nearly as often as I thought I would, because there's a lot you can cover within a 30min radius. The bed was comfortable, the bar fridge was ... big enough. No complains. Only wish I had slotted time to drink in the pub downstairs, it looked fun. "

"We paid for a canal view, that IS the way to go, so cool to look out of the window and see instead of just buildings. There is a square with a lot of restaurants one block away but look at the map since you go down a side street to get there. Our only negative was the shower/tub arrangement was very weird. There was a kind of glass swinging half-door partway covering the tub, and the shower head instead of pointing along the length of the tub, pointed across. Huh?!?!? This meant the floor inevitably got wet, and also that if you are a big person you just won't fit. Someone was smoking too much of the pot when they designed this. Room was fairly quiet and curtains darkened the room well. We would stay there again."

"The location was perfect for our visit to Amsterdam. Our room was court side with a lovely view of the covered courtyard. The free breakfast was very nice with a buffet and a la carte options.The restaurant/bar was very nice and provided a nice meal for our first night in town. The hotel staff were very helpful. I would stay there again."

"I loved the location of this property - walkable to wonderful shops, restaurants, etc. The room was lovely and the staff was excellent. I would just note for any future renovations that it is quite difficult for anyone over 5'10" to use the shower without bending over. Overall, we loved this property and would return again."
