Book a holiday in Blekinge and visit harbour-side towns, bathe among the skerries and experience a wondrous natural environment.

Blekinge has great variety in its surroundings – with dense forests, sparkling beaches and harbour areas on the Baltic. Karlskrona, the region’s largest city, is a world heritage site and home to the Blekinge Museum, which offers a good insight into the area’s history. A weekend visit to Blekinge can also include Karlshamn, Ronneby and Sölvesborg, or a few smaller pearls along the seaside.

If coastal life is what you're after, then Blekinge is ideal, with numerous places to go swimming, both indoors and out. Near Karlshamn, the Kollevik bathing area is a popular attraction, with a sandy beach, boulders and outdoor pools with heated sea water. Other popular sites for bathing include Stumholmen in Karlskrona, Saxemara outside Ronneby and Tredenborg in Sölvesborg.

If you’re staying in Karlshamn, visit the Kastellet, a fortress from the 1600s on the island of Frisholmen, where theatre performances are held in the ancient ruins in summer. Another popular destination is Hanö, where you will discover Hanö Museum in the harbour (also known as Bödeboden), which organises exhibitions on the history of the island. There is also the English churchyard, and nature lovers mustn't miss the rocks at Bönsäcken or the island's deer.

If you're looking for a weekend filled with fresh air, walk the Blekinge path along the coast or take the Hoby path through pasture and forest. Golf enthusiasts can play a few holes at the Sölvesborg Golf club, which has won accolades for its beautiful greens and waterside setting. About 6 miles to the west you will find Stiby backe nature reserve, featuring rich plant and bird life, and offering a view over the Kråkenabben walking area and Listershuvud, another nature reserve.

Families with children usually enjoy a visit to Barnens Gård in Karlskrona, where you will find animals and a play park. Approximately 35 miles west of Karlskrona is Karlshamn, where the Kreativum offers young and old alike the chance to experiment at the nearly 150 discovery stations and watch films in the MegaDomebiografen Kreanova cinema.

If you are travelling by plane, it is easiest fly into Ronneby Airport. Buses and trains from elsewhere in Sweden are operated by Blekingetrafiken and Öresundståg.
