Review of Motel 6 Big Bear Lake – Disappointing Experience for the Price
My stay at Motel 6 Big Bear Lake was underwhelming, especially given the $245 per night rate. Here are the key issues:
• Check-in Process: It took 40 minutes to check in due to a system issue. The key system was down, causing multiple guests to return to the front desk unable to access their rooms, which further delayed check-ins. The staff member on duty was polite and apologetic but seemed overwhelmed and uninformed, requiring multiple calls for assistance.
• Room Quality: The rooms are very old and outdated, far from what you’d expect at this price point.
• Amenities:
• Blankets are extremely thin—bring your own, especially in winter.
• Towels are cheap and thin, and the room is initially stocked with only two. Additional towels require a trip to the front desk.
• Dining options are very limited, especially after 6 PM, so plan accordingly.
Overall, the only positive was the friendly staff, but the hotel’s condition, lack of efficiency, and outdated amenities make it not worth the price. Consider alternative accommodations in the area.
