"One of the most extraordinary places we visited during our stay in Panama. If the noisy, smelly and crowded Bocas Town is not for you (as well), then definitely check out the Al Natural Residence and/or resort. Away from anything else, in the middle of nature, beaches and gorgeous sealife! The residence was just perfect, with stunning views over the ocean and the jungle. Highly recommended!"

"Tropical private paradise. Beautiful rustic bungalow right on aqua waters. We came on off season and felt like we had the island to ourselves. There are kayaks to use as well. If you want more restaurants and life come in the main dry season. There is coral snorkeling nearby and an amazing indigenous guide and chef named Calypso who showed us all the local animals, sloths, monkeys, frogs, caiman and plant medicines. "This is a great place to stay if you need privacy and tranquility. There’s a pool in the back to use and a small food market close by. It’s nothing fancy but very well kept with a great, comfortable bed, hot water and privacy. "

"One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. Affordable, clean, beautiful, welcoming hosts, and a very cute resident cat. Free coffee. Comfortable beds. Close to everything in Bocas Town. Hot water, although we had some trouble keeping the shower a constant temperature. However this really didn’t detract from our awesome stay!"

"Very noisy due to construction. Shower slidding door didn’t work and small sink was inconvenient to use. Stairs safety hand rail was not firm and felt unsafe. Stairs were too steep and unsafe going to second floor beds . TV didn’t offer channel variety and remote control didn’t operate. Overall it was a poor experience which I will not repeat."

"A lovely property with a beautiful garden area and the owners were great and very helpful. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to stay in bocas del toro but away from the noise of the main town. "

"This property is a gem! We stayed a week in December and had an all around lovely stay. The bungalows were clean and so relaxing. Everyone on the staff was friendly and went out of their way to accommodate the guests. We went out several times on excursions with Alejandro and had A experiences. Beautiful and relaxing stay :)

"The location was just far enough away from the busy Bocas Town it made it feel like we were on our own private island. Attractive rooms with the best view and an overall inviting aura. The thing that made this an 11/10 is the food and food service. Every meal was amazing and served with a friendly smile. The lounge chairs on the deck made it hard to leave this serine location."

"The staff was amazing. The food was good. The room was beautiful. I stayed in one of the above water bungalows. The only downfall is there is very little to do nearby. "We are so happy we stayed at Akwaba Lodge. The grounds are well maintained and we had opportunity to walk around and explore. We loved and appreciated the home made meals, breakfast to get us going with fresh homemade bread and jams. Then dinners, with a couple options to choose from, were delicious. We felt like we were part of the family dining there. The room had all we needed and was cleaned daily. We enjoyed some time just sitting at the table outside our room or relaxing in the hammocks. Easy access to the dock for excursions and adventures. Natali and Jean-Christian were helpful with any of our questions, were happy to help plan activities, and even took us on a little jungle tour out back, where we saw sloths, red tree frogs and so many varieties of fruit trees! Would not hesitate to stay here again. "
