Farmstay in Azores

"After our experience 3 yrs ago for a family wedding, there were a few disappointing issues that we reported. On our return, i found the valet service exceptional, bell staff pleasant, 1 front desk clerk miserable but others cracked a smile. Check in was quick and easy. Room was very clean and amenities on point. Breakfast was well stocked and service 3/5. Dinner was incredible but hostes was simply miserable and felt as if we were intruding. Lack of menus so only had 1 to share. She approached 5 mins later with what do you want. Asked for a few more mins. Another lady, Angelica approached, smiling and set a nice tone. Told us they had specials and thankful as the offered duck rice and a spectacular fish. 2 other waiter/waitress also approached, all pleasant. Food was incredible. Desert, the chocolate cigar, best desert in my 57 yrs anywhere in the world. 4.8 out of 5 due to the hostess. Rooftop bar is beautiful yet still lacks a lot of proper service. For a 5 star hotel, best a 3 star. How does a Portuguese 5 star hotel not have the Port on their menu? Ripped chairs in rooftop unexpectable after paying $900 a night and again, 5 star hotel. Would add pictures of the food, room, incredible view but won't let me."

"Brand new hotel - super clean and modern. Pools were beautiful and loved the central location with easy parking options (hotel had a lot - first come first serve, but also public parking down the street. Food was excellent - we ended up having larger lunches out, so opted for few dinners at the hotel itself with our younger kids. Never was disappointed in the service or the food itself. Beds were comfy. Only complaint was the shower design often caused a very wet bathroom floor…though that was not unaided by my children in the shower. "

"This is simply a fantastic hotel - a real gem. We loved our stay - beautiful surroundings, including private hotel use of the gardens and thermal pool after 4.30pm and excellent food. However, what really made it were the staff - always fantastic service and very friendly. We look forward to returning. Thank you. "
