I loved the location of this hotel. There’s a grocery store just down the road (3 min walk), restaurants, shopping and beach within 5 minutes. Our room was so nice and was shared with the room next door but we lucked out not having anyone there. Gabby was the front desk clerk and was amazing. She gave me great recommendations and helped me book an extra night stay. Housekeeping was very helpful and did a nice job of cleaning the room. I also loved the jetted bath tub. A few things I’d like the hotel to upgrade are: a small fridge and coffee maker in the room and fix the bathroom sink nozzle so it doesn’t spray everywhere. The shower curtain should also be replaced as well as it does not keep the water in the shower area. There’s even a note posted on the wall about not flooding the floors and to use the extra towels provided. lol I highly recommend!

This Victorian boutique style hotel is simple but very charming. It’s about a 5 minute ride from the Catalina Express Avalon dock and if you book a ride on Ride Circuit, it’s $2 per person. The property is old but the rooms are nicely done. I loved the shared balcony (especially since the room next to us was empty so we had the balcony to ourselves). The view of the town and ocean is amazing. The jetted tub was very nice and I made sure to pick up some bath salts in town and took a relaxing bath before going to bed. The front desk employee (Gabby) was so nice and helpful. We loved it so much we booked another night. 😍 The one thing that would have made it even better is if the windows had screens on them and if the windows could open more than a few inches.

We liked the outdoor patio on the Sixth floor and the hotel and surrounding area was very quiet. The TV remote power switch did not work - had to unplug the power cord to shut the TV off. The phone "O" button for the front desk did not work.

Everything was great! 2 things I would Change would be asking to move me away from the elevator entrance. We can hear everyone getting on and off the elevator and I would ask to move me to the top floor we keep hearing little stomps all day and night other than that this was a great place to stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Easy check in process, provided information about luggage storage since they do not store luggage after check out. The room was comfortable and clean, with a nice view. Very quiet at night, overall we had a pleasant stay.

This hotel puts ZERO effort into making sure their customers are comfortable. The hotel is old and dated. The rooms have zero character, there are no amenities whatsoever in the room, basically a room and a bed with a bathroom. We did have a balcony and we could see the water from the balcony but that's it. The bed was a king size on a queen headboard and frame. The bed literally felt like a box spring. If you're looking for any type of amenities or luxury this is not the hotel for you. If you're looking for some place just to lay your head, it's perfect. One good thing about the hotels location it's literally 5 minutes walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. We will never stay at this hotel ever again!

i was presently surprise with the St Lauren. The views were lovely from the decks and the rooms have been upgraded from what I remembered. The price was the most reasonable for Avalon. Will be back but you should offer to pick up at the Mole.
