"We had a good experience at this hotel. We only stayed for one night. Service was good but not excellent. Signaling to get to places was poor. Many of the staff members would not speak English and even though most of they tried to assist they were not properly trained or did not know themselves how to help. "Given the fact that there are very limited choice of main stream clean hotels in Aswan, this hotel falls somewhere in the middle. On one end you have high class hotel like Sofitel, on the other hand there are numerous "hotels" in unmarked street near a rubbish dump.Within that context, Obelisk was very clean, convenient, next to the corniche and staff, particularly Ahmed Khadari were very polite and courteous. "Beautiful, clean and comfortable hotel for my brief stay before joining my Nile Cruise. The staff were very friendly and the buffet breakfast excellent. "
