"Stunning property in a newly restored old house. Beautiful, spacious and well-appointed room. The common areas were comfortable and there was a lovely balcony. The breakfast which was beautifully served on the balcony was beyond compare. Local, fresh, and delicious Cretan treats. Archanes is close to Heraklion and the palace of Knossos and had plenty of dining options. We were in Greece for three weeks and our night at Carpe Diem was probably our best stay. "Very nice front desk people, also 24 hour front desk. Our room had a little private balcony which is nice (I think all do) pool was nice (open til 7 pm) . Parking on street was regular trying to find a spot but they have a private lot also but about 10-15 spots. About 5 min drive from airport and 5-10 min drive to the fortress/downtown. Nice quiet safe location. "
