Surely a very historic hotel.great history. famouse guests. However, I'm sure neither che guevara nor edith piaf would like it today. Bathroom with rusty fittings, staff unfriendly and little helpful, equipment below standards (one towel for 2 persons, despire complaint), breakfast with drued cheese and salat leaves (but they charged fir two extra breakfast more than for a domestic flight). In europe, the hotel would get at most one or two stars.

This 5-star hotel is located in Algiers Center, with parks and museums (Bardo, Antique & Islamic Art) in walking distance. Taxis are easy to arrange. My room had a great view over the white city and the Mediterranean. The hotel offers a nice variety of dining options, indoor and outdoor. I like in particular the photo gallery of famous visitors and the beautiful botanical garden.

Changement de chambre 3 fois en 4 nuits ! La première fois parce que la tringle à rideaux gisait au sol, la seconde fois parce qu’il n’y avait plus d’eau chaude et un bidet bouché, nous aurions préféré ne jamais avoir la 3eme chambre juste au dessus de la salle de danse et du parking, le bonheur jusqu’à 3 h du mat !!!! L’hôtel n’est absolument pas entretenu comme il se doit ! Où est la gouvernante censée vérifier le travail ? Et les cerbères dans la salle de petit déjeuner, à quoi servent ils ? Le repas du soir est exagéré niveau tarif et ne casse pas 3 pattes à un canard ! Franchement, plus jamais !

L'hôtel St George n'est plus que l'ombre de lui-même. Hormis le personnel du restaurant gastronomique et des femmes de chambre, le personnel d'accueil est à la limite de l'impolitesse, notamment les "hauts" responsables. Si le prix des chambres est abordable, les prix des boissons et de la nourriture sont scandaleusement élevés. On relèvera que cet hôtel est propriété de l'Etat algérien et est donc géré comme une entreprise publique où le personnel est fonctionnarisé! Jamais je n'ai vu un hôtel géré par l'Etat de toute ma vie de fréquent voyageur!

Frühstück war eher durchschnittlich. Es fehlte an frischem Obst und die Kaffeemaschine war wohl nicht richtig eingestellt. Balkontür lies sich nicht richtig schließen. Personal beim Empfang war hilfreich bei Wechsel des Zimmers.
