Afterward, explore freshwater mangrove tunnels, float along the park's quiet river on an inner tube, or go for a dip in the covered Mayan Cave cenote—an enchanting natural cavernous pool. For a more thrilling experience, enjoy a zip-line that ends with a refreshing dip in the water, or make your way to the Cliff of Courage. Rising 15 feet (5 m) above the water, it’s the perfect perch to test your mettle with a courageous leap into the lagoon.

Consider a walk through the park's thick jungle, which boasts more than 220 species of plants and 100 varieties of birds. Then pick one of the four buffet restaurants, to tuck into Mexican (or international) cuisine and try a cocktail, followed by a quiet snooze in one of the park's waterside hammocks. It's the perfect way to end your day in this exciting slice of the Yucatan.

New at Xel-Há this year is the chance to be part of a purification ceremony, a mystic experience led by a shaman to connect with nature, including a meditation session and access to a cenote to start a new cycle.
