Overview

This is a living history visit of events that took place in the 20th century
There is so much preserved here, that we could imagine that these battles happened yesterday.
There is nothing “tacky” here. There is a tremendous sense of honour and respect.
On certain days there is a nearby steam railway, constructed to carry troops and war materials during the First World War.
The circuit of remembrance is in beautiful, rural countryside.

The monument to the first tank battles on this planet shows the different kinds of tanks used. Across the road from the monument is the site a windmill, destroyed during the WW1 battles. Some 2000 Australian soldiers lost their lives here;
Ulster Memorial Tower

The tower is a replica of Helen's Tower in County Down, Northern Ireland, where the soliders of the British 16th division trained before engaging in the Battles of The Somme. The assault on the German positions herecost many Irish lives.
